Tour Overview

The Komodo to Lombok boat trip is a four-day, three-night luxury phinisi crossing from Labuan Bajo, Flores, through Komodo National Park and west towards Sumbawa and Lombok. Also known as a Flores to Lombok boat trip or Labuan Bajo to Lombok boat trip, it combines island visits with a one-way journey ending in East Lombok.

Choose this direction when you are continuing west after a stay in Flores. Komodo National Park comes early in the journey, followed by the longer passages towards Sumbawa. After arriving in Lombok, you can continue to your next stay or arrange a separate connection to the Gili Islands.

Read the Flores to Lombok crossing guide for westbound logistics and planning for seasickness for comfort considerations on longer passages.

The Sumbawa stops help distinguish the boats. Menami's westbound programme includes Satonda and Moyo; other itineraries can include Saleh Bay or Kenawa. If whale sharks, a waterfall visit or a particular island is a priority, compare the named boat's route rather than assuming every westbound trip visits the same places.

Compare the 4 luxury phinisi boats below for a shared 4D3N crossing from Labuan Bajo to Lombok. Check the bed arrangement, private or shared bathroom, cooling, cabin location and guest capacity. Starting fares are per person and depend on the room category; compare park fees, transfers and fuel supplements when choosing between boats.

Plan both ends of the journey around your selected departure. Labuan Bajo boarding can be in the morning, afternoon or evening, while the arrival time and onward transfer in Lombok differ by boat. Longer westbound programmes and private arrangements appear separately under Other crossing options.

Before relying on a particular stop, read why a Komodo itinerary can change.

For the eastbound journey, explore the Lombok to Komodo Boat Trip. If you want to start and finish in Labuan Bajo, compare the Komodo Tour 4 Days 3 Nights options. Choose your direction from the places you want to visit and the confirmed sailing dates.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a Komodo to Lombok boat trip cost?

2026 shared-trip starting prices per person for a 4D3N crossing are IDR 3,600,000 on Menami, IDR 5,500,000 on Arumi, IDR 7,750,000 on Sukha Sail 1 and IDR 8,350,000 on Lady Grace. Menami's figure combines the cabin fare with the minimum IDR 300,000 fuel adjustment; the final supplement can be higher. These are starting fares for specific shared-cabin categories. Other rooms cost more, so compare the cabin, inclusions, park fees and final total for your departure.

Should I to Lombok or Lombok to Komodo?

Choose Komodo to Lombok when you are starting in Labuan Bajo, Flores, and continuing west. Komodo National Park comes early in the journey. Choose Lombok to Komodo when you want to start in Lombok and finish in Labuan Bajo, with the park visits later.

Stops can differ as well as their order. Menami's westbound itinerary includes Satonda and Moyo, while its eastbound programme includes Saleh Bay. Compare your preferred activities and available departure dates on the Lombok to Komodo Boat Trip page before choosing.

Where does the Komodo to Lombok boat trip finish?

The main westbound programmes compared here finish in East Lombok, commonly at Kayangan Harbour. The selected boat's instructions give the arrival time and included road transfer.

Confirm whether your package drops you in Senggigi, Mataram, Kuta or Bangsal. Reaching Bangsal and taking a boat to a Gili island are separate legs, so check whether that crossing ticket is included or needs to be arranged separately.

Can I fly out of Lombok the same day the boat arrives?

A same-day flight depends on your boat's actual arrival and the time needed for the road transfer and airport check-in. Some westbound programmes arrive much later than others, and sailing conditions can change the timetable.

Ask for the expected disembarkation time before booking a flight. An overnight stay in Lombok gives you more flexibility if the arrival or transfer changes.

Is this trip available all year?

Availability follows each boat's sailing calendar. Several operators advertise crossings between April and November, but the dates and trip lengths differ between vessels and directions. The boats on this page do not share one year-round departure pattern.

Ask whether the specific westbound departure is operating and whether your cabin is available. Also check the operator's arrangements for weather-related itinerary changes or cancellations before booking onward travel.

Do you still see the Komodo dragons on this route?

A dragon walk is part of the Komodo National Park visits on the main westbound itineraries. The selected boat's programme identifies whether the visit is on Komodo or Rinca and when it takes place.

The walk is ranger-led, and wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. Park access depends on the approved visit plan and operating conditions; arrange the SiOra registration with the handling operator before departure.

How much time is spent sailing rather than stopping?

Expect both island visits and longer passages, including overnight sailing between the Komodo area, Sumbawa and Lombok. The national-park visits come early, with more time aboard as the boat travels west.

The balance depends on the itinerary and boarding time. Compare the daily plan, cabin comfort and Sumbawa stops if time ashore is important to you. A Labuan Bajo round trip is another option if you prefer to focus on Komodo National Park.

Can I join in Labuan Bajo and get off partway?

Intermediate disembarkation is not part of the standard shared 4D3N crossing. Island excursions along the route do not necessarily provide an onward transport connection, so plan to finish at the agreed harbour in Lombok.

If you need a different end point, discuss a private arrangement with the operator before booking. Confirm the itinerary, transport connection and any additional cost in writing.

  • Payment is cashless through the methods available in SiOra, including BRIVA or bank transfer and supported e-wallets. Keep the e-ticket and ensure the traveller details are correct.
  • A 1,000-visitor daily quota has applied since 1 April 2026 to the main visitor islands and 23 dive sites. Availability therefore depends on the travel date and registered itinerary.
  • The final SiOra total can include entrance, activity, vessel and special-use charges. Ask the handling operator for an itemised total before issuance.
  • Official public guidance does not state one universal refund or rescheduling rule for every reservation. Confirm the current SiOra terms in writing before the ticket is issued, including treatment of weather disruption.

Who This Suits

This direction suits travellers already in Flores who want to visit Komodo and continue towards Lombok. It works as a sailing holiday between destinations, with time for the islands and the passages between them.

Couples, solo travellers and small groups can compare shared-trip cabins on the boats above. Check the room category, bed arrangement, bathroom access, cooling and maximum guest capacity. A bed in a shared cabin and a cabin reserved for your group are different booking choices.

Families should check child policies, sleeping arrangements and the swimming or walking involved at island stops. Travellers interested in photography can compare the planned visits, while allowing for changes in the light, timing and stop order.

If whale sharks are the priority, select a boat whose westbound itinerary includes Saleh Bay. Menami's programme includes Satonda and Moyo instead. For a longer sailing or a whole-boat arrangement, use the separate Other crossing options and request the appropriate itinerary and quote.

Allow time for the road transfer after reaching East Lombok. A stay in Lombok gives more flexibility before an onward flight or Gili connection, especially when the boat arrives later in the day.
