How to choose a Komodo Liveaboard

Choose the trip before the finish

A beautiful vessel is only useful when its departure, route, duration and booking model fit your dates. Open a vessel page to inspect its current trip context.

Match capacity to your group

Maximum guests and cabin count describe different things. Use both to judge privacy, sleeping arrangements and how social the trip may feel.

Use class as a comparison aid

Deluxe, Luxury and VVIP are normalized vessel tiers. They help narrow the fleet, but cabins, facilities, route and operator details still decide suitability.

Pick the right activity focus

Diving vessels prioritize dive operations. Leisure vessels prioritize sightseeing and relaxation. Mixed vessels balance both for groups with different interests.

Duration, routes and comfort

Short Komodo trips commonly focus on the park highlights from Labuan Bajo. Longer expeditions may combine remote regions or season-specific routes. Duration on a vessel is a capability signal, not a guaranteed departure.

Cabin count, maximum guests, air conditioning, bathrooms and deck space shape the onboard experience. Confirm exact cabin availability on the vessel detail page before choosing a trip.

For park entry context, seasons and visitor planning, read the Komodo National Park guide.

1 Day
Fast access to selected highlights without an overnight cabin.
2D1N–4D3N
Common leisure and mixed Komodo trip lengths.
5D4N+
Longer regional journeys and diving-focused itineraries.

Compare prices by purchase unit

A shared price is displayed only when the source supports a purchasable USD per-person trip rate. A charter price is displayed only as a whole-boat rate, with its trip or nightly context. Missing or on-request prices stay hidden.

What “verified operator” means here

An operator name appears only when the locked entity graph links the published vessel to a published Tour Operator through boat_management. No operator is inferred from marketing copy.

Liveaboard comparison FAQ

Is a Liveaboard the same as a Komodo tour package?

No. A Liveaboard page describes one vessel. A Tour page owns a route or product itinerary, while the Komodo tour hub compares durations and package choices.

Why do some vessel cards have no price?

The hub hides a price when the current data has no purchasable amount with an explicit unit. It never divides a whole-boat charter price by capacity to invent a per-person fare.

What is the difference between shared and private charter?

A shared trip sells individual places or cabins. A private charter reserves the whole vessel for one group. Some vessels support both models.

Are all vessels shown currently published?

Yes. The collection queries published Liveaboards whose canonical cruise area includes Komodo. Future, draft, private, preview and non-Komodo records are excluded.

Can a Komodo vessel also sail in another region?

Yes. The hub uses each vessel’s canonical cruising-area terms, so a vessel may appear under Komodo and another supported operating area.

How are vessels ordered?

The default order is alphabetical by published vessel name. The hub does not label vessels best, top or recommended.
