Komodo National Park out of Labuan Bajo, on charters of one to four nights, pick-up eight to ten in the morning. The standard route takes Kelor for the trek and Rinca for the dragons on day one, closing at Kalong for the flying foxes; Padar at first light on day two, then Pink Beach, Manta Point and Taka Makassar. Her two-metre draft is shallower than most boats this size, which lets her anchor closer in at the sand and reef bays where the deeper hulls have to stand off and run guests in by tender.
Suits: friends travelling together. Behike carries deluxe cabins in both double and twin configuration at the same grade, so two people sharing get separate beds without moving up to a suite. Gammara, by contrast, has king beds in every cabin and no twin option at all.
Also works for: small groups of four or fewer. The lowest band covers up to four guests at IDR 117,500,000 for a four-day charter, and the band premium on the shorter trips is only IDR 5,000,000.
Less suited to: divers and larger parties. No compressor, dive deck or diving package is offered. Twelve is the liveaboard ceiling, and the group supplement doubles to IDR 10,000,000 a band once you go past three nights.
