Splendour Yacht at a Glance

Splendour is a 20-metre classic wooden pleasure yacht built in Ara, Sulawesi, in 2018. Her ironwood-and-teak construction draws on the same regional boatbuilding tradition as Indonesian phinisi, while the low-profile design takes its visual cues from American pleasure yachts of the 1920s. The result is a distinctive private-charter vessel arranged across three open-plan decks.

The yacht measures 20 metres by 5 metres with a 2.3-metre draft. A 180 HP Yanmar engine provides a published cruising speed of 6–9 knots and a range of roughly 900–1,000 nautical miles. Six crew members cover navigation, engineering, cooking and guest service.

Cabins and Shared Spaces

Splendour has three air-conditioned cabins for a standard maximum of six guests. The Master Cabin accommodates two guests and has its own en-suite bathroom. Two compact Cocoon Double Cabins each accommodate two guests and share a bathroom and WC. The operator also describes an optional converted back-lounge sleeping area for children or additional passengers, which must be confirmed when requesting a quote.

Social spaces include an open dining saloon, kitchen bar, front and back lounges, a shaded upper deck with sun loungers, beanbags and tables, plus a swim deck with direct water access and a freshwater shower. The onboard battery system is designed to keep nights at anchor quiet while maintaining essential comforts.

Water Activities and Tender

An eight-seat tender with a 40 HP engine supports shore transfers and water activities. Published equipment includes eight snorkelling sets, a double stand-up paddleboard, two wakeboards, two surfboards and a picnic set. The direct operator programme also highlights island hopping, wildlife spotting, hiking, snorkelling and family activities.

Splendour is positioned primarily as a leisure yacht rather than a dedicated dive liveaboard. Guests interested in scuba diving should request a specific arrangement and verify equipment, guides and surcharges before booking.

Komodo Season and Charter Format

The yacht operates year-round in Komodo National Park from Labuan Bajo. Private charters are tailored to the group, with routes shaped around weather, park conditions and guest priorities. Typical days can combine viewpoints, Komodo dragon walks, reef snorkelling, beaches, wildlife encounters and sunset anchorages.

The published minimum stay is four days and three nights. Embarkation begins at 15:00 and disembarkation is before 11:00. Longer voyages can be arranged directly with the operator.

Price, Inclusions and Exclusions

The operator publishes a rate of USD 2,490 per night with a three-night minimum, making the minimum base charter USD 7,470 for up to six standard guests. This includes exclusive yacht use, accommodation, meals, snacks, coffee, tea, juices and non-alcoholic drinks, crew services, leisure equipment, airport transfers, cruise permits and fuel.

Flights, hotels, alcoholic beverages, Komodo National Park visitor fees, travel insurance and relocation outside the standard operating area are excluded or charged separately. Additional adult or child guests are priced separately and must be confirmed for the intended group composition.
