    Who Silolona suits

    Groups of eight to ten who are buying the boat, not the berths. Five cabins and seventeen crew is an unusually generous ratio. Compare the listed package conditions for your intended group size in Rates & Packages. Families with children. The operator adds child beds in any of the five cabins, and the two king suites at four by six point six metres are large enough for a family to share without it feeling like a compromise. Travellers who want the culture as much as the reef. Silolona has thirty years of relationships with Asmat, Dani and Sumbanese communities behind it. Village landings on these itineraries are the real thing, not a staged stop. Certified divers who do not want to pay per tank. Diving is included for certified guests, run through an onboard PADI centre with an instructor in the crew.

    Smaller parties. Charter is whole-vessel only. Compare the listed package conditions for your intended group size in Rates & Packages. Anyone who wants peak Komodo manta season. Silolona deliberately does not sail Komodo between December and March. If manta trains are the reason for the trip, this is the wrong vessel or the wrong region. Divers chasing tank counts. This is an expedition yacht with a dive centre, not a dive liveaboard. Days are built around a mix of shore, culture and water rather than four dives back to back. Budget-sensitive groups. At the top of the Indonesian market, with a four-night minimum in Komodo and longer east of it.

    About This Vessel

    Silolona is the flagship 50-metre phinisi of Silolona Sojourns, launched in 2004 after construction by Konjo boatbuilders in South Sulawesi. Built from tropical hardwood to German Lloyds specifications, she carries ten guests in five cabins: three king suites and two double suites. A crew of seventeen supports a high-touch expedition style across Indonesia.

    The vessel combines traditional two-masted sailing lines with air-conditioned guest accommodation, generous teak common areas and a fully equipped onboard dive operation. Certified divers can use the supplied dive equipment and join guided diving, while non-divers have snorkeling, sea kayaks, paddleboards, water skiing, wakeboarding, fishing and shore excursions available according to itinerary and conditions.

    Silolona operates bespoke whole-vessel charters and now also offers a small number of scheduled cabin expeditions. For 2026, the operator publishes a six-night Komodo departure from 29 September to 5 October and a seven-night Raja Ampat departure from 23 to 30 November. Cabin departures require a minimum of three cabins to be guaranteed, while private charters remain tailored to the group.

    Komodo is generally served from Labuan Bajo during the drier sailing season. Raja Ampat, the Banda Sea and wider eastern Indonesia are planned around regional weather and crossing conditions, with embarkation ports such as Sorong or Ambon depending on route. Every itinerary remains subject to weather, permits and the operator's final navigation plan.

    The five cabins each sleep two guests and have private ensuite bathrooms. Asmat, Java and Bali are the larger king suites; Sumba and Borneo are compact double suites.

      • The final SiOra total can include entrance, activity, vessel and special-use charges. Ask the handling operator for an itemised total before issuance.
      • Official public guidance does not state one universal refund or rescheduling rule for every reservation. Confirm the current SiOra terms in writing before the ticket is issued, including treatment of weather disruption.

      Statutory fees under Peraturan Pemerintah No. 36 Tahun 2024, in force since 30 October 2024. Verified 31 August 2026 against the official PP 36/2024 schedule, the Ministry of Forestry SiOra notice and the Ministry’s 2026 quota notice. Amounts are payable in rupiah; dollar figures are courtesy estimates converted at Rp 17,900 and rounded.

      What is the minimum charter length?

      When does Silolona sail Komodo and when does she sail Raja Ampat?

      April to September she is based in Labuan Bajo and works Komodo, Flores and the Savu Sea. October to April she moves east and operates out of Ambon for Banda and the Spice Islands, Sorong for Raja Ampat, and Biak for Cenderawasih Bay. The Komodo window is deliberately outside the December to March monsoon.

      Is diving included?

      Yes, for certified divers. Silolona carries a licensed PADI dive centre with an instructor in the crew, and dive equipment including wetsuits is part of the charter rate. Certification courses and Nitrox are not declared by the operator and should be confirmed when booking.

      What is not included in the rate?

      Alcohol, crew gratuity, flights, travel and dive insurance, and personal expenses. Charters in Papua carry an additional regional administrative charge quoted per cruise. Fifty nautical miles per charter day is included; longer passages are quoted separately.

      Can children sail on Silolona?

      Yes. The operator can add a child bed in any of the five cabins. With ten guests maximum and seventeen crew, family groups get a level of attention that is difficult to match on larger vessels.
