Komodo National Park out of Labuan Bajo, on charters of one to three nights, pick-up eight to ten in the morning.
The 2D1N runs Kelor for the trek, Rinca for the dragons, Kalong for the sunset, then Padar at first light, Pink Beach, Manta Point and Taka Makassar before returning to port at five.
The 3D2N swaps Rinca for Manjarite on day one and adds the Komodo Island dragon trek on day two, giving a fuller version of the same circuit.
She does not sail beyond the park.
Suits: mixed groups where not everyone is a couple. Five cabin grades across eight rooms, including numbered sharing cabins, means solo travellers and pairs can book the same trip without anyone buying out a room they do not need.
Also works for: guests who want to be above the waterline. Three of the eight cabins are on the upper deck and two more on the main deck, so more than half the accommodation sits above the lower deck, which is unusual on a 36-metre hull.
Less suited to: divers and anyone planning a long trip. No compressor, dive deck or dive guide is listed and no diving package is sold. Nothing longer than four days and three nights is published either, so this is a short-circuit boat rather than an expedition one.
Marea is a 36-metre phinisi carrying seventeen guests across eight cabins, and the deck distribution is the part worth noting. Three cabins sit on the lower deck, two on the main deck and three on the upper deck. Most boats this size cluster their accommodation below the waterline and reserve one or two rooms upstairs; Marea puts nearly forty per cent of her cabins on the top deck.
The cabin ladder runs royal, signature, deluxe, superior and sharing, five distinct grades across the eight rooms, with the sharing cabins numbered separately. That spread lets a single booking cover couples wanting the royal cabin and solo travellers taking a berth in a sharing room.
She runs an 8DC11 main engine of 340 PS with two 40 kVA auxiliaries, navigating on Garmin Aqua Maps radar with VHF and MF radio. Onboard space covers indoor and outdoor dining, a spacious sundeck and a karaoke lounge, with a paddleboard and canoe carried for guests.
She is a leisure boat, not a dive platform. No compressor, dive deck or dive guide appears in the specification, and the include list covers snorkelling activities only. Itineraries run two to four days inside Komodo National Park out of Labuan Bajo, with pick-up between eight and ten in the morning.
The top grade on board, and the most extensively photographed cabin in the operator gallery. Ensuite bathroom, hot shower, air conditioning. The operator does not state which deck it sits on, but the cabin count puts three rooms on the upper deck, and this is the one to ask for.
The second grade down. Ensuite bathroom with hot shower and air conditioning, presented in the gallery as a full-size double.
Mid-tier cabin with a double bed, ensuite bathroom and air conditioning.
Below deluxe in the ladder, with a double bed, ensuite bathroom and hot shower.
One of the sharing cabins, numbered rather than named, built for guests travelling without a partner. Ensuite bathroom and air conditioning like the rest.
The second numbered sharing cabin, same fit-out.
One of the three lower-deck cabins. The operator publishes the deck split, three lower, two main and three upper, but does not map the five grade names onto it, so confirm position at booking.

Eight cabins across three decks: three on the lower deck, two on the main deck and three on the upper deck. That is a higher proportion upstairs than most boats this size manage, where accommodation usually clusters below and one or two rooms sit on top.
Five: royal, signature, deluxe, superior and sharing, with the sharing cabins numbered rather than named. The operator publishes the grade names and the deck split separately but does not map one onto the other, so ask which deck your grade sits on before booking.
The rate table lists shared-trip accommodation and private whole-boat packages. A private cabin on a shared departure is different from chartering the entire vessel. See Rates & Packages in Cabins & Pricing for trip lengths, units and conditions. Confirm the chosen departure and cabin allocation before payment.
Compare the listed fares in Rates & Packages under Cabins & Pricing. Each offer states its trip length and whether the amount is per person, per cabin or for the whole vessel. Check the selected package conditions, taxes, extra fees and any minimum stay with the operator before payment.
No. There is no compressor, dive deck or dive guide in the specification, no dives in the include list, and no diving package on the rate card. Snorkelling equipment, a canoe and a paddleboard are included, and Manta Point appears as a snorkelling stop.
Two, three or four days. Nothing longer is published, which puts her at the short end of this tier where several boats sell up to nine days. The itineraries stay inside Komodo National Park.
An 8DC11 main engine of 340 PS with two 40 kVA auxiliary generators. Navigation is Garmin Aqua Maps radar with VHF and MF radio. Cruising speed, fuel and water capacity are not published.
Flights, hotels and meals in Labuan Bajo, travel and dive accident insurance, alcohol and personal expenses, Komodo National Park entrance fees, photo and video documentation, and crew tips. Everything else, including transfers, all meals, snorkelling gear, canoe, paddleboard and guide, sits inside the charter rate.
