Komodo National Park out of Labuan Bajo, pick-up eight to ten in the morning. The published package is a single 3D2N loop: Kelor for the trek and Rinca for the dragons on day one, closing at Kalong for the flying foxes; Padar at first light on day two, then Pink Beach, Manta Point and Taka Makassar; a final snorkel on day three before returning to port. At seven to eight knots she is on the slower side of this tier, so the schedule is tight rather than leisurely.

About This Vessel

Aimar Cruise is a traditional phinisi built in 2024, with a 27-metre body plus a seven-metre bowsprit, a six-metre beam and 136 gross tons. Seven cabins carry up to twenty-two guests.

The bed sizes are what stand out. Both master cabins and both deluxe cabins have double beds measuring 200 by 200 centimetres. The masters add private balconies, and all four are sea-view cabins.

Below those sit two sharing cabins, each with four single bunk beds of 120 by 200 centimetres, and one superior cabin on the same bunk arrangement. That gives solo travellers and friends a berth without buying a whole room, and it is where most of the twenty-two-guest capacity comes from.

She carries twelve tons of water, runs a Mitsubishi 8DC11 at seven to eight knots with two 40 kVA dynamos, and navigates on GPS, AIS, radio and sonar. Safety equipment covers two twenty-five-person life rafts, life jackets, life buoys, fire extinguishers and first aid kits.

Onboard there is full air conditioning, hot water showers, an indoor dining area, TV and karaoke, a mini bar and a rooftop deck. There is no dive centre, compressor or diving package.

Booking runs through SIORA, the park's own system, and is handled by a licensed operator before arrival. There is no ticket window at the gate.
A daily cap of 1,000 visitors applies across the park, split between Komodo, Rinca and Padar and the dive sites around them.
Entry runs in sessions rather than all day, which is why a boat's arrival time is set by the park and not by the crew.
A drone permit is separate, expensive, and has to be requested well in advance.
