Komodo
Komodo is the mid year season and the only itinerary that departs from Labuan Bajo. Master Liveaboards sells it at 7 and 10 nights, with a 6 night version appearing occasionally. Published 2026 and 2027 pricing runs from USD 3,605 for 7 nights to USD 5,560 for 10. This is also the window in which local agents sell her whole as Chakana for private Komodo charters, so if you want the boat to yourself rather than a cabin on a scheduled trip, this is the season to ask about.
Raja Ampat
Raja Ampat is the largest block on her calendar and runs from Sorong through the northern winter, typically December to April, at 7 and 10 nights. Recent published pricing sits between USD 3,969 and USD 6,000 depending on year and length. Reviews from these departures repeatedly mention mantas, wobbegongs and pygmy seahorses, which matches what the region is known for.
Banda Sea
The Banda Sea runs from Ambon in October and early November at 6, 7 and 10 nights, and it is where her cheapest published departures land, from USD 3,402 for 6 nights. These are crossing itineraries built around remote walls, volcanic islands such as Gunung Api and Manuk, and hammerhead season. A longer 12 night Banda Sea and Misool combination appears in some years at USD 7,140.
Halmahera
The Misool, Halmahera and Lembeh crossing is her signature long trip, 12 nights between Sorong and Bitung in November and December, priced from USD 7,044 to USD 7,440. Shorter Lembeh and Halmahera legs of 10 nights run around USD 5,950 to USD 6,200. These are the itineraries that separate her from boats that only work the Komodo and Raja Ampat circuit.
Alor
The Alor and Solor Archipelago appears as a 10 night itinerary from Maumere in September, priced around USD 5,950 to USD 6,200, and it does not run every year. Alor mixes muck diving with reef, and it is usually positioned as a repositioning leg between the Komodo season and the eastern season rather than a standalone destination.
Ambon
Ambon functions mainly as an embarkation port for the Banda Sea rather than a cruising ground of its own, though the harbour muck sites at Laha are well known and often dived on the first or last day. The Southern Forgotten Islands itinerary, a 12 night run out of Kalabahi at around USD 7,440, is the most exploratory thing on her schedule and only appears in occasional years.
Who This Suits
Suits certified divers who want range rather than one region, underwater photographers who need dedicated camera space and rinse tanks, couples who will pay for a balcony cabin, and families or two couples travelling together who can take the bow suite. Also suits groups of up to 20 who want the whole boat for a private Komodo trip through a Labuan Bajo agent.
Less suitable for non divers, since the scheduled itineraries are built around four dives a day and there is no separate non diver programme. Also less suitable for anyone expecting a budget Komodo trip, since cabin pricing starts above USD 3,400 per person before park fees, equipment and nitrox. Master Liveaboards itineraries require Advanced Open Water certification and at least 50 logged dives.

About This Vessel
Chakana is the 47-metre phinisi currently operated and sold by Master Liveaboards under the official name Indo Master. The operator's current website uses Indo Master; Chakana is retained here as an established alias for the same hull, not a second vessel.
Built in Sulawesi in 2022 from ironwood and teak, the boat measures 47 by 8 metres and carries a maximum of 18 guests in nine air-conditioned ensuite cabins. The layout comprises two upper-deck Superior twin/double suites with private balconies, two upper-deck Premium Twin suites with Juliet balconies, two lower-deck Classic Doubles, two lower-deck Classic Twins, and one lower-deck family-sized suite with two double beds. The physical family cabin can sleep four, but the operator caps each scheduled cruise at 18 guests.
Indo Master is purpose-built for dive itineraries. The official specification lists three Bauer compressors, four dive guides, two tenders, a large dive deck, camera and video areas, separate rinse tanks, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. Nitrox, rental equipment, Wi-Fi and laundry are available for an extra charge.
