North Blue at a Glance

North Blue is a 20-metre traditional phinisi operating private charters and shared trips from Labuan Bajo through Komodo National Park. The vessel accommodates up to 18 guests in five air-conditioned cabins, with private-bathroom and shared-bathroom options.

The teak-and-ironwood boat has a 4.5-metre beam, a published cruising speed of 8–11 knots and approximately 5,000 litres of freshwater capacity. Current material consistently identifies a Mitsubishi main engine but gives two different model numbers, so the exact engine designation should be confirmed directly before technical reliance.

Five Cabins for Up to 18 Guests

The published standard layout comprises two Master Ocean View cabins for two guests each, two Sharing Cabins with private bathrooms for four guests each, and one Sharing Cabin with a shared bathroom for six guests. This standard occupancy totals the vessel-wide maximum of 18 guests.

Each Master cabin has a queen bed, air conditioning, a private bathroom and sea views. The two private-bathroom Sharing Cabins each have two queen beds. The six-person Sharing Cabin has two queen beds and two single beds, air conditioning, sea views and access to a shared bathroom. A secondary cabin description mentions an extra-bed option in the Master category; confirm any flexible arrangement without exceeding the published vessel maximum.

Dining and Outdoor Areas

Shared spaces include a dining area, outdoor and semi-outdoor chill areas, beanbags and open deck views. A speaker and karaoke setup provide onboard entertainment between island visits.

Published equipment includes snorkelling gear, a canoe, life jackets and a liferaft. A speedboat supports transfers and shore visits. North Blue is presented as a leisure-focused Komodo boat rather than a dedicated scuba-diving liveaboard.

Shared and Private Komodo Trips

Published programmes include 2 days 1 night and 3 days 2 nights. Shared departures are commonly listed for Monday–Wednesday and Friday–Sunday, while private dates remain subject to availability. The published operating period is March through December.

The standard Komodo route combines Kelor Island, Manjarite, Kalong Island, Padar Island, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Manta Point, Taka Makassar and Sebayur. The skipper may adjust the sequence for weather, currents, wildlife and park conditions.

Pricing and Inclusions

The primary charter page currently lists private-charter pricing as “Ask for price”. A current secondary source publishes shared-trip rates from IDR 2,650,000 per person for the shared-bathroom cabin, IDR 2,850,000 for a private-bathroom Sharing Cabin and IDR 3,850,000 for a Master Ocean View cabin, with a minimum of two guests. Structured pricing is intentionally left blank because the primary page does not publish a confirmed charter total and the site pricing fields use a different currency context.

Published inclusions cover onboard accommodation, meals, drinking water, coffee and tea, a guide, raw photo and video documentation, snorkelling equipment, life jackets and mainland Labuan Bajo hotel or airport transfers. National-park fees, flights, crew gratuities, personal expenses, snacks and separately ordered drinks are excluded.
