    Komodo National Park out of Labuan Bajo, on charters of two to six nights. The standard three-day route picks up at nine, takes Kelor for the trek and Manjarite to snorkel on day one and finishes at Kalong for the flying foxes. Day two runs Padar at six, Pink Beach, the Komodo Island dragon trek, Manta Point and Taka Makassar. Day three snorkels Sebayur before returning to port. Longer charters add Kanawa, Siaba, Gili Lawa, Tatawa Besar, Rangko Cave and Seraya.

    Who This Suits

    Suits: large groups that want the bill to be predictable. Port fees, local retribution, port clearance, insurance and airport transfers all sit inside the charter price rather than appearing as extras at the end, which is not the norm in this bracket. Soft drinks are included too.

    Also works for: mixed parties across budgets. Five cabin grades at two units each, sized from 20 down to 9 square metres, let a group split a boat without everyone paying suite money, and the published floor areas make the difference checkable rather than a matter of adjectives.

    Less suited to: couples and small groups. The minimum booking is six guests, so two people pay the six-guest rate, and there is no open-trip cabin option at all.     About This Vessel

    Mutiara Cruise is a 47-metre phinisi rebuilt from a traditional hull into a liveaboard and put back into service in 2020, constructed from Borneo ulin and teak. At 10.9 metres of beam she is one of the widest boats in this directory, and that width is what buys the two jacuzzis in the alfresco lounge and the aft diving deck.

    Ten cabins in five grades, two units of each, and the operator publishes the floor area of every one. Master Family Suites on the upper deck at 20 square metres with king beds, private balconies and space for a child on an extra bed. Master Suites alongside them at 17 square metres with queen beds and balconies. Below deck, Junior Suites at 12 square metres with queen beds, Deluxe Triples at 11 square metres with two singles plus a bunk, and Superior Triples at 9 square metres with a queen plus a bunk. All ten are air-conditioned and ensuite with hot and cold water.

    Common space runs to an air-conditioned restaurant, the alfresco lounge with its jacuzzis, a promenade deck and a dedicated diving deck aft. Sunrise yoga on deck is part of how the boat is sold.

    She runs a ten-cylinder Nissan RF10-10 of 440 hp at five to ten knots. Beam: the agent lists 10.9 metres, which would make her exceptionally wide for a 47-metre phinisi, and no second source confirms it. One earlier listing describes the vessel as 43-plus metres rather than 47. Crew numbers, tankage and generator capacity are not published.
