    The only ground Neptune works, and she works it year-round from Labuan Bajo. The signature 3D2N route runs Kelor, Manjarite and the flying foxes at Kalong on day one; Padar at sunrise, Pink Beach, the dragons on Komodo Island, Manta Point and Taka Makassar on day two; then a final snorkel at Sebayur before returning to port. Longer charters up to seven nights extend the same waters rather than moving to a different region.

    Who This Suits

    Suits: groups and families booking the whole boat. Twenty berths across seven cabins is a lot of capacity for Komodo, every cabin has a queen bed and a sea view, and the charter rate barely moves between four and seven nights, so the per-night cost drops sharply on longer bookings.

    Also works for: couples on a shared departure who want a balcony without chartering. The two mansards are the only top-deck cabins on board, and at USD 850 per person they sit well below full-charter money.

    Less suited to: divers and anyone wanting range. Neptune is a leisure and snorkelling boat with a dive deck rather than a dive operation, and she works Komodo only. For Raja Ampat, the Banda Sea or Alor, look at the boats that reposition seasonally.

    About This Vessel

    Neptune Cruise is a 40-metre Buginese schooner built at Bulukumba in 2022 from ulin ironwood and Javanese teak, and she is one of the larger boats working Komodo National Park on short itineraries. Three decks, seven cabins, twenty guests, and a layout that puts a sea view in every room rather than reserving the view for a master suite.

    The cabin grades run top down. Mansard I and II sit on the upper deck with queen beds, panoramic windows and private balconies. The Junior Suite is on the main deck, again a queen with a balcony and direct deck access. Four Deluxe cabins occupy the lower deck with queen beds and sea-view windows rather than portholes. All seven are ensuite with hot showers and individually air-conditioned, and every one has a queen bed, so there is no twin-versus-double negotiation when a group books.

    Common space is split across an air-conditioned indoor dining room, an open-air dining area on the sundeck, a lounge, and a bar that doubles as a karaoke room in the evenings. There is a dedicated dive deck and unlimited satellite internet across the boat.

    Mechanically she runs a W Marine 8D16 at six to ten knots, with 10,000 litres of fresh water storage and onboard watermakers. She works Komodo year-round out of Labuan Bajo on two to seven night routes, and the fare includes trip documentation shot by the crew on drone, GoPro and mirrorless camera.

      What is the difference between the mansard, junior suite and deluxe cabins?

      Deck and view. The two mansards are on the top deck with panoramic windows and private balconies. The Junior Suite is on the main deck, also with a balcony and direct deck access. The four Deluxe cabins are on the lower deck with sea-view windows. All seven have queen beds, ensuite bathrooms with hot showers and their own air conditioning, so the gap is position rather than comfort.

      How much is a private charter?

      It is quoted per package rather than per night: USD 8,900 for 2D1N up to USD 20,950 for 7D6N, covering the full vessel for up to twenty guests. Beyond twenty, extra guests are USD 500 to 550 each. Departure dates are flexible on charter, unlike the fixed shared schedule.

      Is the Komodo National Park fee included?

      No. Park entrance, ranger and conservation fees are paid separately, as are flights, drinks and personal expenses. Budget for these on top of the cabin or charter rate.

      Is photography really included?

      Yes, and it is unusual at this price. The fare covers documentation shot by the crew on drone, GoPro and mirrorless camera. If you want to fly your own drone instead, a permit runs around IDR 2.1 million per unit per day and is not included.

      Can you dive from Neptune Cruise?

      There is a dive deck on board and Manta Point features on the standard route, but Neptune is run as a leisure and snorkelling vessel rather than a dive operation with an onboard dive centre. Diving is arranged rather than built into the schedule.

      Where does she sail?

      Komodo National Park only, from Labuan Bajo, all year. Routes run two to seven nights and cover Kelor, Manjarite, Kalong, Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Manta Point, Taka Makassar and Sebayur. She does not reposition to Raja Ampat or the Banda Sea.
