Cruising Areas

Komodo

Komodo is the dry-season programme out of Labuan Bajo, and Sanya launched here in August 2025. With five guests on a 36-metre hull the boat has more deck than it needs, which shows most at anchor: Padar, Pink Beach, Manta Point and the Rinca ranger trek can all be timed around the day-boat traffic rather than alongside it.

Raja Ampat

Raja Ampat occupies the opposite season out of Sorong, with longer passages between anchorages and a schedule set by tide and light. Starlink on board makes this the most workable of the fleet for anyone who cannot go fully offline for a week.

Banda Sea

Banda and Halmahera are cruised on the repositioning legs between seasons, on request rather than to a published calendar. Availability depends on where the boat is being moved.

Alor

Alor sits on the seasonal legs east and asks more of divers than Komodo does. The Pantar Strait carries real current and cooler water, while Kalabahi Bay is the slow muck counterpoint. Five guests on a 36-metre hull is unusually low density and it shows here: surface intervals are unhurried and there is no need to run the group in two waves.

Ambon

Ambon is a crossing port on the eastern circuit and the diving is critter work in the bay rather than reef. Silt, sponge and rubble, best taken slowly and shallow. Nitrox is included in the rate, which is worth having on profiles that reward staying down rather than going deep.

Halmahera

Halmahera comes up on the longest eastern itineraries and is the least trafficked water this boat reaches. Weda Bay carries walking sharks and a run of endemics, on reef largely untouched by other operators. Expect long passages and a route set by conditions rather than a brochure.

Who This Suits

Suits: a couple with a young child, or two couples who do not mind an unequal split between the main-deck master and the lower-deck cabin. She is the newest hull in the fleet, the most powerful, and the only one besides Nataraja listing Starlink, so she is the pick for anyone who wants the boat to feel current rather than traditional.

Less suited to: groups. Five is the ceiling on a 36-metre boat, which is generous per guest but limiting if the party is larger. Anyone wanting two equal cabins should look at Dewata instead.

About This Vessel

Sanya is a 36-metre private phinisi designed and built by Pacific High in Bira, South Sulawesi, and launched in 2025. Two ensuite cabins accommodate four adults and one child, supported by a crew of 11. The low guest count leaves substantial space for an open deck lounge, outdoor dining and private sea access.

The 25-square-metre Ocean View Master Cabin sits on the main deck with a 200 x 200 cm king bed, a sofa convertible to a 200 x 80 cm child bed, panoramic views and a private terrace with direct sea access. The lower-deck Guest Cabin sleeps two adults and converts between two 90 x 200 cm singles and a double bed. Both cabins are air-conditioned and have private bathrooms.

The official 2026 rate is US$6,200 per night including taxes. Komodo charters with Labuan Bajo embarkation and disembarkation have a three-night minimum, so the minimum charter total is US$18,600. Christmas and New Year charters from 18 December to 4 January are US$6,820 per night, and Raja Ampat charters spanning either holiday require at least seven nights. The package includes marine park, harbour and community fees, full board, non-alcoholic drinks, snorkeling and diving equipment, nitrox for certified divers, excursions, massages, Komodo airport fast-track, transfers and Starlink.

SiOra is the park’s e-ticketing and SIMAKSI system. Reserve before travel; Ministry guidance recommends completing the reservation by H-1. An operator can assist, and self-service is available at the Komodo Visitor Center and KP3 terminal.
Payment is cashless through the methods available in SiOra, including BRIVA or bank transfer and supported e-wallets. Keep the e-ticket and ensure the traveller details are correct.
A 1,000-visitor daily quota has applied since 1 April 2026 to the main visitor islands and 23 dive sites. Availability therefore depends on the travel date and registered itinerary.
The final SiOra total can include entrance, activity, vessel and special-use charges. Ask the handling operator for an itemised total before issuance.
Official public guidance does not state one universal refund or rescheduling rule for every reservation. Confirm the current SiOra terms in writing before the ticket is issued, including treatment of weather disruption.

Statutory fees under Peraturan Pemerintah No. 36 Tahun 2024, in force since 30 October 2024. Verified 31 August 2026 against the official PP 36/2024 schedule, the Ministry of Forestry SiOra notice and the Ministry’s 2026 quota notice. Amounts are payable in rupiah; dollar figures are courtesy estimates converted at Rp 17,900 and rounded.

How many guests can Sanya take?

When was Sanya launched?

August 2025, in Komodo. She is the newest vessel in the Pacific High fleet, built at the yard in Bira, South Sulawesi and operated together with PT Alur Biru Pariwisata.

Is there internet on board?

Yes. Starlink is listed in her navigation and communication equipment alongside GPS, VHF and SSB radio and satellite phones. Coverage can still drop in narrow bays and behind high terrain.

Can we dive from Sanya?

Yes. She carries a 325-litre dive compressor, a nitrox blender system, scuba equipment and a free-diving buoy and line, with a 6-metre RIB as the dive tender. Dive insurance is mandatory and courses are charged separately.

How does she compare to Senja?

Sanya is marketed as Senja’s sistership and shares the two-cabin layout and 25-square-metre main-deck master. She is five metres longer, has a stronger engine and generator package, carries Starlink, and takes one more guest thanks to the child bed in the master.
