Komodo
The Komodo section falls on day two of the crossing and is compressed into a single long day: the sunrise trek on Padar, the ranger-guided walk on Komodo, snorkelling at Pink Beach and a stop at Manta Point. Day three adds Savana Beach and Coral Beach. Because the boat is transiting rather than looping, there is no second pass at the park — if the weather closes a site, it is not revisited.
Lombok
Lombok is the western terminus. Eastbound and westbound departures both run over four days and three nights, with the Labuan Bajo departure leaving on Sunday evening. Transfers at the Lombok end are not included in the fare — the published exclusions name drop-off at both Lombok and Labuan Bajo — so budget for that separately.
Sumbawa
Day four crosses Sumbawa waters. The published stops are Saleh Bay for whale sharks around the bagan fishing platforms, Moyo Island with the Mata Jitu waterfall, and on some versions of the route Satonda and Lamere village. These are the stops that justify the fourth day; sightings at Saleh Bay are not guaranteed.
Who This Suits
Suits: solo travellers and pairs crossing between Flores and Lombok who want a berth rather than a boat, and who are comfortable with shared bathrooms.
Also works for: a family of four, who can take the balcony cabin outright at the four-person minimum, and anyone who prefers to sail the first night rather than lose an evening at anchor.
Less suited to: anyone who needs an ensuite bathroom, a published technical specification, or a whole-boat charter — none of the three exists for this vessel. Also less suited to divers: there is no dive equipment on board.

About This Vessel
Wellenreng is a 25 m traditional wooden phinisi for private journeys in Komodo, Raja Ampat, the Banda Sea, and beyond. It has three air-conditioned guest cabins for up to six guests, with a maximum capacity of nine including children. The vessel offers en-suite bathrooms with hot showers, Nitrox, diving support, kayaks, a stand-up paddleboard, and shaded outdoor dining.
The Wellenreng was built in Tanah Beru, South Sulawesi. Construction began in 2008 and the vessel began its first voyage in 2011. The owner publishes private, tailor-made itineraries rather than a fixed shared-trip schedule.

Walenreng is sold per berth only. No whole-boat charter rate is published, so the charter price field is left empty. Fares are the 2026–2027 4D3N per-person rates converted at IDR 16,800 to the US dollar; the starting price is the lower-deck share berth at IDR 5,750,000. A second agent selling the same boat publishes fares about IDR 1,000,000 lower per person, so it is worth checking more than one seller before booking.
Included: full-board accommodation, three meals a day, drinks, snorkelling equipment, guided shore activities and shared fishing gear. Excluded: Komodo National Park entrance at IDR 500,000 for foreign visitors and IDR 350,000 for Indonesian nationals, ranger and trekking fees, flights, hotels, travel insurance, alcoholic drinks, crew tips, personal expenses and transfers at Labuan Bajo and Lombok.
