Vela

Vela is a 50-metre private-charter phinisi launched in 2022, with a 41-metre deck length, 9.75-metre beam and 3.8-metre draft. Built in South Sulawesi by Konjo boatbuilders, she combines traditional sailing form with modern naval design, an 890 hp Yanmar engine and a cruising speed of 10–12 knots. Eighteen crew serve up to 12 guests; the operator may also accommodate two young children under ten by prior arrangement.

Six ensuite rooms are divided into one 40 m² Owner’s Suite on the bridge deck, one 35 m² Master Cabin on the main deck, and four 18–23 m² Staterooms below deck. The Owner’s Suite has a private terrace, king bed, lounge and oversized bathtub. The Master has a king bed, marble vanity and panoramic glazing. The four Staterooms can be configured with a king bed or two twins, subject to the selected room and advance confirmation.

Vela is available only as a whole-boat private charter. For the 2026 Komodo season, the official rate is USD 17,000 per night plus 12% VAT with a four-night minimum. The minimum charter total is therefore USD 76,160. The displayed per-person starting proxy is USD 6,345, calculated from that minimum total divided by the official 12-guest adult capacity; it is not a shared-cabin fare.

The charter includes the full crew and fuel, meals and snacks, water, fresh juices, coffee, tea and other non-alcoholic refreshments, diving for certified divers, land and sea activities, airport transfers, up to four hours of spa treatments per day, Starlink internet, national park entrance fees and permits, and use of SeaBobs and jet skis where permitted. Alcohol, crew gratuity, PADI courses, required diving insurance, airfare and visas are excluded.

Twelve dive kits, two Bauer compressors and a Nitrox generator support certified divers. Water toys include two Zodiac Pro 7 tenders with 200 hp outboards, two Yamaha WaveRunners, two SeaBobs, paddleboards, sea kayaks, water skis, a wakeboard, towables, fishing equipment and an outdoor gym. Vela’s seasonal program covers Komodo, Raja Ampat, Alor and Maumere, and the Spice Islands.

A 30% deposit confirms the booking and the balance is due 90 days before departure. Alternatively, the operator accepts a 50% deposit with the remaining 50% due 60 days before departure. The public website does not publish a detailed cancellation-refund schedule, so guests should review the charter contract before payment.
