Raja Ampat
Fifteen of her twenty published itineraries are Raja Ampat, all round trips out of Sorong, running five to nine nights. Nine cover Central and North, and six extend south to Misool before working back north. This is the densest Raja Ampat schedule of any boat in this collection, and the reason she is worth looking at specifically rather than as a general Indonesian liveaboard.
Halmahera
South Halmahera out of Ternate, three itineraries at around six nights each. This is genuinely rare on a liveaboard schedule: volcanic islands, low-traffic reefs and almost no other boats. It runs in the September window between Raja Ampat seasons, and the crossings between Ternate and Sorong are themselves sold as diveable trips.
Who This Suits
Suits: divers whose target is Raja Ampat specifically, and underwater photographers. The camera room is singled out by reviewers, the beam gives an unusually roomy kit-up area, and the schedule offers more Raja Ampat departures across more dates than anything else here.
Also suits: solo travellers and non-divers. Bunk cabins can be sold single, a single supplement is offered rather than forced sharing, and non-divers get roughly USD 50 a night off the published rate.
Less suited to: anyone wanting Komodo. She does not run it at all. Also worth noting that eight of twelve cabins are below the waterline with portholes, so guests wanting daylight should book the four main deck doubles early.

About This Vessel
Sea Safari 8 is a 35-metre ironwood phinisi based in Sorong. The operator lists Raja Ampat, Cenderawasih Bay and nearby Papua routes as its core sailing area, while selected departures also connect through South Halmahera. Its ten-metre beam creates unusually generous shared and dive-working spaces for a traditional schooner.
The current operator specification lists 12 ensuite, air-conditioned cabins for up to 26 guests. Accommodation comprises four main-deck double cabins, four lower-deck twin cabins, two lower-deck double cabins, one lower-deck cabin with two bunk beds for four guests, and one lower-deck cabin with a single bunk bed for two guests. Cabins include hot and cold showers, hair dryers, bathrobes, towels and safety boxes.
Indoor facilities include a restaurant, bar and sofa lounges. Outdoors, guests have a shaded lounge, sun deck, lazy beds and an open-air Jacuzzi. The deck plan also shows separate dining and relaxation zones across four decks.
For diving, Sea Safari 8 carries a spacious dive deck, camera station, EAN 32% nitrox support and ENOS diver locators. Two aluminium speedboats handle transfers to dive sites, with radar, GPS, EPIRB, satellite communications, life rafts, oxygen and firefighting equipment listed in the current safety specification.

A five-night Central and North Raja Ampat scheduled cruise starts from US$2,350 per person before local charges. The displayed US$2,600 minimum includes the mandatory US$35-per-person-per-night fuel, transfer and entrance-fee bundle for five nights plus the US$75 Raja Ampat local-government PIN.
The three-night private-charter figure is normalized from US$4,920 per night at the current 26-guest capacity, including the same mandatory local charges. The operator should confirm the final amount for the actual route and guest count.
